Biography

Sundar Lama holds a Master’s degree in Painting from Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu, Nepal. He has presented three solo exhibitions and participated in numerous national and international art activities, workshops, and performance art programs in countries including South Korea, Singapore, Germany, Japan, Bangladesh, and India.
His artistic practice has been recognized through several prestigious awards, including the Special Award in Contemporary Painting at the Bagmati Province National Art Exhibition 2025, Amatya Kala Puraskar 2025 (Contemporary Medium) organized by the Commercial Artists Association of Nepal, the Bronze Medal (2020) in Performance Art at Without Borders, an international art competition organized by the School of Visual Arts, World University of Design, India, and the Arniko Youth Art Award (Gold Medal) 2018 organized by the National Youth Service Trust, among other notable recognitions.
Alongside visual art, Lama is also a poet and published his poetry collection “सुसेली रहेको मान्छे (A Man with Whistling Tune)” in 2019.
